The Office of Donor Relations & Stewardship encourages University-wide (non-departmental) scholarship recipients each spring to write personal thank-you letters. These letters are compiled into a standard format and sent to donors along with their corresponding endowment reports in the fall. University-wide scholarships include Admissions (Charter Scholarships) and the Office of Student Financial Aid (OSFA).

UGA students representing units across campus are selected to serve as ambassadors at the annual Presidents Club Reception. The students mingle with guests and thank them for their support. This is a great way for donors to hear first hand how their gifts make an impact. Prior to the Presidents Club Reception, students were asked to complete a survey about their experience at UGA.

Thank A Donor Day
UGA Thank a Donor Day
In 2012 the University of Georgia initiated a new tradition — Thank a
Donor Day! The purpose of this day is to create a culture of
philanthropy among UGA students by educating them about the importance
of private giving and demonstrating the impact it makes on their
educational experiences and, at the same time, emphasize the importance
of thanking donors for their generosity. The occasion is a perfect
opportunity to collect student thank you notes, photos, video messages
and other expressions of gratitude in an effort to acknowledge the
generosity of our donors in a personal way. The Donor Relations Office
partnered with the UGA Student Alumni Association and the entire UGA
community to observe this day of gratitude!
