Student Stories

Jasper, GA

Why did you choose to attend UGA?
The University of Georgia was the only place I applied. I was convinced I was going to go to UGA one of the first times I went to a game day when I was about 5. Between the world class education, the atmosphere and enthusiasm of the city, and the way UGA makes a student feel at home, I never wanted to go anywhere else.
What is your most memorable UGA experience or memory?
I could say the UGA vs. LSU football game last year at Sanford stadium, but I'm going to go with the feeling I got when I was selected as a Terry College of Business Student Ambassador. This was a goal of mine every since I got in to the Business school here at UGA.
What is your favorite campus setting and why?
Saturday in Athens on a fall day. There is nothing like gameday in Athens. Between the tailgating and gathering of old and new friends, I always meet new people whether it be from legends who used to play for the Dawgs to new fans.
What student organizations are you involved in?
Terry College of Business Student Ambassador, Leadership UGA Cohort, UGA College Republicans, Terry Leadership Connection, Athens-Clarke County Rec. Department, Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity, Collegiate 4-H, and Designated Dawgs.
What are your career plans/aspirations?
I hope to go into Public Accounting in Atlanta, but after that I am very wide open to whatever path God leads me down.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
Hopefully in the accounting field trying to help businesses become more successful. I want to be able to take the skills the University of Georgia has given me and enrich the lives of those around me.
How will you make a positive difference in the world?
Hopefully with the attitude and enthusiasm I have, but also being in a position to help others in need. I want to immerse myself in the city I am stationed and make a difference by being in an organization of some kind
What message would you like to send to alumni and friends who support UGA financially?
First I want to say y'all are miracle workers. When I see alumni around campus, or am able to attend events like this one, it makes me understand the pride and accomplishment it means to say I am a Georgia Bulldog. The commitment everyone has made to this University not only says everything about your love for UGA but also the pride everyone has. I am honored to be able to attend the same University and look forward to keeping the tradtions and pride alive.
