Landscape Architecture

Why did you choose to attend UGA?
It was the only school I ever wanted to attend when I was young. When it came time to apply for colleges, that thought never changed. The size, academic rigor, campus, and options for environmental majors were only a few of the reasons I was drawn to UGA.
What is your most memorable UGA experience or memory?
The UGA vs LSU 2013 football game is definitely up there, but there was one night freshman year that I will never forget. It was one of those times where you are invited to an event in which you don't know very many people, and say, "why not?". I ended up having an amazing time and met my best friends there.
What is your favorite campus setting and why?
I love walking around campus during a class change. You have a chance to see all kinds of students that you wouldn't normally see, and it reminds you of how large and diverse our university is.
What student organizations are you involved in?
I am involved in Student Government Association, US Green Building Council, GA Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects, and the Catholic Student Association.
What are your career plans/aspirations?
As far as career plans go, the only thing I know is that I am excited to be a landscape architect! I am still looking into all of the areas of the field that interest me, and in time I'll develop a clear picture of where I can best serve my passions.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
In five years, I'd like to be experiencing something new. Whether that is living in an urban environment, a different area of the country, or even a different country altogether, I think that would be a great time to branch out.
How will you make a positive difference in the world?
In my career, I want to make sure that my biggest concerns are always nature AND people. Community service has been a huge part of my life since high school, and I'm going to make sure that I am always serving people throughout my life. Whether that is career oriented or not, it is definitely a priority.
What message would you like to send to alumni and friends who support UGA financially?
Donors, you have no idea the impact you make on UGA! Great students make a great school, and your support is what draws students in and keeps us here. Thank you so much for keeping UGA the finest in the land!
Names of scholarship awards you have received?
Zell Miller Scholarship GA Chapter ASLA Scholarship
What has your scholarship meant or enabled you to do?
Being one of four kids, these scholarships have been a huge blessing for my family. Instead of having the pressure to take on additional jobs, these scholarships have allowed me to focus more on my school work and keep my grades up.
