Rooms & Rates

Rates for tourism are valid through June 30, 2018. All rates include lodging, a variety of on-site activities, wireless Internet with personal computers in the main campus area and taxes. The nightly rate also includes three Costa Rican style meals per day, freshly prepared using local ingregients and served buffet-style in our dining hall. Primary rooms reserved for tourists and faculty, the Ecolodge rooms are an 8-10 minute walk from the main campus along a country road. Each room has private bathroom with hot-water shower, coffee maker and balcony.  Most rooms include 1 double, 1 single and 1 bunkbed.
Bungalows Adults:
Single:  $90.00
Double: $180.00
Extra:    $50.00/person

4-6 years(w/parents): $25.00
7-12 years(w/parents): $50.00

Located about 100 meters from the main building and dining hall, the bungalows are the primary student dormitory rooms. Each room has private bathroom with hot-water shower and sleeps up to 4 persons (2 bunkbeds). Four rooms also available with 1 double and 1 single bed.
Bunkhouse Adults:
$60.00 p/person

4-6 years(w/parents): $25.00
7-12 years(w/parents): $50.00

Men’s and Women’s bathroom facilities located within 25 meters with hot-water showers. Four rooms sleep from 2 to 8 persons each, in 1 to 4 bunkbeds. The Bunkhouse is located in the main campus, about 100m from the dining hall.

Reservation and Cancellation Policy (Tourism)


Confirmation and 50% deposit

A 50% deposit of the total reservation cost is required to confirm your reservation. Confirmation of deposit must be received no later than 30 days prior to the reserved arrival date.  Reservations without the required 50% deposit will be automatically removed from the reservations calendar.


Deposits can be made in one of two ways:


1. Credit card. Through our secure website using your Visa or MasterCard. We will send you a secure link to make the 50% deposit. .


2. Wire transfer. By wire transfer to UGA Costa Rica’s US$ account from any bank. Please note that your US bank will likely charge a commission. This commission is not included in the cost; the client is responsible for paying for this commission directly to the bank when making the transaction. Any bank fees not paid by the client will be added to the total cost of the reservation. UGA Costa Rica charges a US $40.00 service charge for wire transfers, regardless of the amount being transferred. If you would prefer to pay via wire transfer, let us konw and we will provide you with the information needed to make the wire transfer. 


Cancellation Policy


Cancellation during the high season (December 16-August 15)

* 31 days or more prior to check-in date: No penalty.

* Less than 30 days prior to check-in date: Deposit will not be refunded.


Cancellation during the low season (August 16-December 15):

* 31 days or more prior to check-in date: No penalty.

* Between 15 and 30 days prior to check-in date: 50% of initial deposit will be refunded.

* Less than 15 days prior to check-in date: 25% of initial deposit will be refunded.

* “No-shows” are not eligible for refund in any amount.



  • Check-in is from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM
  • Check-out is from 7:30 AM to 11:00 AM
  • Payments will be received Monday-Saturday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.  If you will be leaving before 7:30 AM, please check out at Reception the day before.
  • For academic programming, or to reserve classroom/lab space, please contact the Academic Programs Manager at
  • Payments made to other service providers for reservations on behalf of the Client will be refunded according to the cancellation policies of the other providers, and will apply according to each specific case. UGA Costa Rica will send a lump-sum refund to the Client following receipt of all refunds provided by third party providers.
  • Any bank fees charged to make refunds to the Client due to cancellations or adjustments will be deducted from the total refundable amount.
