Who are Digital Dawgs?

Digital Dawgs are UGA social media ambassadors who share news and information on their social networks (Facebook / LinkedIn / Twitter). Periodically, we email our Digital Dawgs content (a link with a custom caption developed for social media), and they have the opportunity to customize the message and share it to their social networks. This helps amplify important messages and enables us to reach an audience that may be disengaged with the University of Georgia but connected to a Digital Dawg through social media.

What do Digital Dawgs share?

Examples of past content the Digital Dawgs have shared on behalf of UGA are: the 40 Under 40 announcement, the Bulldog 100 announcement, Young Alumni Night at SweetWater and Georgia Giving Week. Right now, 783 loyal alumni and friends of the University of Georgia have signed on to be Digital Dawgs and share content on behalf of our great university.

To gain more control over how the content is delivered and shared, we are moving our ambassadors from a third party platform to be more flexible and create our own bespoke social ambassador program.

When is this happening?

The first send on our new platform will be at the end of September.

How do I get involved?

  • Follow us on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.
  • If you’re active on social media, you can sign up to be a Digital Dawg.
  • Encourage alumni and donors you interact with to become a Digital Dawg! Let them know that Digital Dawgs are for Bulldog Faithful who are interested in being “in-the-know” and helping share great news with the rest of the Bulldog Family.
