Originally from Powder Springs, Georgia, Jamie Lewis (AB ’12, AB ’12) is excited to call Athens, and now the University of Georgia, home. Lewis is a Double Dawg with undergraduate degrees in English and French from the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences. In July 2014, she joined the UGA Alumni Association as assistant director of communications. Since that time, she has transitioned into the role of digital specialist with UGA Division of Development and Alumni Relations.
In this role, she manages and writes for the Alumni Association’s blog, oversees the organization’s email marketing activities, gathers content for use in social media marketing, and assists with event execution and promotion.
Prior to joining the Alumni Association, Lewis was the public relations and advertising coordinator at Epting Events, a full-service event planning company based in Athens.
While a student at UGA, she was a member of Gamma Sigma Sigma and was proud to serve as parliamentarian on its Executive Board. After graduation, Lewis spent a year in Atlanta developing her career in public relations. When she moved back to Athens in 2013, she immediately sought out the Athens Area Chapter of the Alumni Association to continue her involvement with her alma mater. As part of the leadership team for the Athens Area Chapter, Lewis attended the 2013 Alumni Leadership Assembly and planned a successful Athens food tour for local graduates. She is also an active member of the Athens Chamber of Commerce’s Young Professionals Network and manages their e-newsletter.
She is excited to further explore the world of alumni relations as assistant director of communications.
