Students learned about medicine saftey with the College of Pharmacy and about animal safety and habitats with the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources.

Experience UGA is a partnership between the Clarke County School District (CCSD) and the University of Georgia, which aims to bring all 13,000+ Clarke County students (PreK-12) to UGA every year to experience learning on a university campus. Children who begin pre-school in a Clarke County school will have at least 14 opportunities to visit the university by the time they graduate. The vision is two-fold: first, students’ learning will be enhanced through hands-on, curricular-based activities in a university environment; and second, Clarke County students will be exposed to a broad array of opportunities and come to view post-secondary education as an attainable option for their future.

Make a gift today to support all Clarke County students Experience UGA!

Experience UGA seeks to:

  • Foster a sense of excitement about higher education. UGA and CCSD create an environment where Clarke County students feel welcomed and encouraged to consider post-secondary options in their future.
  • Meet the curricular goals of schools and teachers. Trip hosts work with teachers and administrators to make sure the learning on campus is meaningful and relevant to learning in the classroom. Clarke County teachers and students will receive information and activity ideas to prepare them for the trip. After the trip, they will receive material connecting concepts from the field trip to classroom learning.
  • Provide a fun, interactive learning experience. Clarke County students explore a variety of activities that are engaging and fun, as well as interact with hundreds of college students!
  • Bring together the community and the university. Clarke County students and teachers and UGA students, faculty and staff have the opportunity to engage and connect over education.

By making a gift, you give Clarke County students the opportunity to benefit from the resources at UGA.

Why This Project Matters

This year, along with our current programming, Experience UGA is set to introduce two new trips while also expanding a third trip, as we complete the final gaps in our program. Experience UGA relies on gifts, sponsorships, and grants to support the ongoing operations of the program. Fees for the program include, but are not limited to, transportation, food, pre- and post- trip activities, supplies for students, and support for the Experience UGA Ambassador program. It costs approximately $5 per student to host an Experience UGA trip, and only $5,000 for an entire grade level in the district.

See how your support will make an impact:

  • a gift of $5 will send one student on a field trip
  • a gift of $100 will send one classroom on a field trip
  • a gift of $500 will send a grade level at one school on a field trip
  • a gift of $5000 will send an entire grade level in CCSD on a field trip

Make your commitment to the future of Clarke County students today.
