GA National FairMembers of the Advanced Photojournalism Class (JOUR 3710) will spend the day at the Georgia National Fair in Perry, capturing all aspects of the day. Students will begin their day when the fair opens and work until closing time. Professional photographer mentors work with the students providing feedback and constructive critiques for the student photographers throughout the event.

Previous classes have experienced the Petit Le Mans Race in Braselton and communities in Northeast Georgia.  Examples of other student photojournalism projects can be found here.

Service Learning Impact

This project give students first hand, real world experience covering a major event, the opportunity to have their work critiqued by professional mentors and have their work published by the Macon Telegraph newspaper.  Funding will enable students and faculty mentor to travel to Perry and cover all expenses while at the site.
