DAR Orientation Outreach
Each summer, thousands of students and their parents descend on Athens to participate in UGA’s New Student Orientation. And when we say “summer,” we mean all summer:
The students have applied to UGA, accepted admission, graduated from high school and now they’re anxious and excited about the next chapter in their lives:
Let’s not mention how the parents feel:
These audiences represent the next generation of Bulldogs, so you know DAR is eager to welcome them to the UGA family and ensure they’re aware of opportunities that we offer.
So, DARCOMM connected with central units in the division to create a snapshot of how DAR will engage with these audiences while they are on campus for Orientation.
We compiled a summary of those activities to help facilitate collaboration, and here are a few highlights:
- Guides for Parents of New Students
- Red & Black Advertising
- Emails to Prospect Parents
- Handouts at the Resources Fair
- Presentations
- Decorating residence hall rooms
- Proud Alumni Buttons
Want more detail? Email Elizabeth Elmore, and she’ll share the full slide deck. Or, let her know if you think we’ve missed something so that we can get it added.
*Also let Elizabeth Elmore know if you’re interested in snapshots like this at other times of year. We also create one for the holiday season, but are open to other needs.
