October ’24 DAR Star: Genevieve Antwi-Nuamah

by Gabby Adekogbe

We work with absolutely incredible people — and we all have varied interests and experiences, which adds to the unique makeup of the University of Georgia. We’ll be regularly spotlighting a few rock stars from around the division so that even if you don’t cross paths with them in the break room or Zoom with them on a weekly basis, you can get to know colleagues who can enhance your work life and productivity.

Without further ado, please enjoy our Q&A with Genevieve …

Name: Genevieve Antwi-Nuamah

Title: Marketing and Communications Analyst

  • As a marketing analyst, I use data to tell stories that reveal what our constituents like and how they behave when they interact with our content across social, email, web, paid advertising and print media. I help DAR (and our campus partners) understand which marketing strategies are working best on different platforms, even for those who aren’t tech-savvy. By studying trends and patterns, I can suggest ways to improve advertising, boost giving and reach the right audience.

Where can we find you?

  • Online: ude.agu@52574ag
  • On Campus: 1 Press Place
  • At Home: Athens, Georgia

Time in DAR: 9 Months!

What are 2 things you wish others in DAR knew about your job?

  1. Collaboration, collaboration, collaboration! My role is incredibly collaborative. I love working with different teams on projects, identifying your needs, and using that information to provide insights and recommendations that are most valuable to you. Ultimately, your success is my success!
  2. Your perspective is more valuable than you might think. Sometimes, hearing your unique perspectives can clue me into looking for additional data that could be of value and ultimately enhance the story we are trying to tell together.

What is your favorite reason for working for UGA/DAR? Every day is a new adventure. There is always a new project to get stuck in. I learn something new every day, and it’s rewarding to utilize data analytics to showcase value, whilst identifying what is working and what is not.

What is a work project you’ve been most proud of participating in? Dawg Day of Giving! It was really fun being in the “war room” and subsequently piecing together a story that showcased the impact that the marketing team had on Giving Day.

What is your favorite spot in Athens to grab lunch? Maepole, South Kitchen or Taqueria Tsunami!

My dream vacation would be to visit… Kenya and Tanzania!

Something you might not know about me is… Before I moved to Georgia, I lived in Dublin, Ireland. I love exploring, traveling to new places and immersing myself in different cultural experiences. I believe that there is always something new to learn and experience when you travel, whether that is through food, conversation or history.

Lately, I’ve been watching… House of the Dragon, Bel Air, and Modern Family.

Tell us about your family! I’m the first of 4 siblings (2 girls and 2 boys). My husband is currently pursuing a PhD in Philosophy with a focus on Artificial Intelligence at UGA. I love being able to meet up with him for lunch on a random Tuesday!

We hope you learned something new about Genevieve. We are lucky to have her on our DAR team! Feel free to reach out to her if you would like to debrief the latest season of Bel Air or grab lunch at Taqueria Tsunami!
